At Sampson Investment Management, we believe the road to financial independence begins with a holistic understanding of your finances. Meaning, it is essential for us to review the important components of your estate, income taxes, and household finances to provide the very best advice and most effective planning recommendations.
We also believe in a team approach, where skilled and uniquely trained professionals consult and contribute regularly on your behalf. These professional relationships are built with individuals who share a mutual respect for one another’s expertise and a commitment to excellent client service.
The CPA Relationship
As the Investment Advisor/CFP, it is essential for us to have a solid relationship with our clients’ CPAs. We think it is important to bring tax expertise and planning into our conversations about specific investment strategies, retirement and estate planning. As a CFP I have a strong understanding of tax planning and liability. However, it does not match or replace the knowledge of our clients’ CPA.
We consider annual tax reporting an opportunity to work directly with our clients’ CPAs, establishing direct communication where appropriate, making the flow of information as easy and efficient as possible for everyone involved.
The Estate Attorney Relationship
All successful financial plans include a legacy chapter. Our role as your coach is to understand “what is”, then to help you and your Estate Attorney get to “what should be”. By bringing a well-organized view of our clients’ current situation to the table, we can often facilitate a better meeting outcome and a more complete and thoughtful estate plan.
The “Special Teams” Relationships
While clients benefit from the strong relationships built between financial professionals such as Investment Advisors, CFPs, CPAs and Estate Attorneys, it is also important to have a group of professionals with a specific focus and expertise to lend a hand when necessary.
Often times, clients will benefit from a specific type of financial review. Our team approach gives clients access to the strong relationships we have built with mortgage and loan professionals, benefits specialist, financial coaching experts, etc.
The Team Approach To Investment Management and Financial Planning
We have found over the past 30+ years, clients are best served when the Investment Advisor/CFP works closely with a group of financial professionals who share a commitment to the quality of their service, a dedication to their area of expertise, and desire to work together for the overall benefit of the client.
